  • We see children of all ages, from infants to teens. While we are primarily a pediatric clinic. We occasionally see adults.

Can I join my child in their session?

  • Of course! Some families prefer to wait in the waiting room, others find it helpful to watch sessions. Talk with your clinician to find a plan that works best for you and your child.

How do I get started?

  • Email us at team@owltherapyservices.com with a little information about your child. We like to know their name, age, services you’re looking for (OT and/or speech), primary goals or areas of support, and general availability.

Speech Therapy

How long is a speech/language session?

  • We offer 30 minute speech sessions. If you are looking for more support, we offer multiple sessions per week, as repetition supports progress.

I’m not sure if my child needs speech therapy. What can you work on during sessions?

  • Speech-language pathologists can help your child if they are hard to understand (speech sounds), have a stutter or disfluent speech, aren’t talking yet or have a limited number of words, or are needing support with language skills in school or daily routines.

Do you offer social groups?

  • We are not currently, but check back!

Occupational Therapy

How long is an OT session?

  • Most OT sessions are 45- 60 minutes, depending on goals and needs of the client.

What skills do you work on in OT?

  • We can help your child with feeding, sensory differences, dressing, hygiene, emotional regulation, motor planning, executive functioning, visual perceptual differences, coping strategies, and more.

Is there a waitlist for OT?

  • Unfortunately, yes. However, please reach out as outlined above and we will add you to our list.

Payment

Do you accept insurance?

  • We do! We currently accept Medica, United Healthcare, BCBS of MN, Aetna, and Cigna. Feel free to ask if you don’t see your insurance plan listed.

Do you accept grants or waivers?

  • Yes! We would be happy to work with your casework or social worker if you are unsure how to utilize these funds.

What if my child has secondary insurance coverage?

  • We can accept the following for secondary coverage only: UCare, South Country, or Blue Plus plans as well as the companies mentioned above.

What is secondary coverage?

  • Secondary coverage is when you have a second form of insurance. We bill the primary insurance first, then bill the secondary insurance with the remainder.

My insurance says OT and Speech services are covered. What does that mean for me?

  • Covered services just mean that we can bill insurance for our sessions. For most plans, this means you will still owe a co-pay or coinsurance. Once your annual deductible is met, the price you pay per session decreases.

I haven’t met my deductible yet, is it cheaper to pay cash?

  • We are more than happy to discuss this with you. We do offer a special cash rate, but typically only recommend this option if you know you likely won’t hit your deductible (for example, if you are not close to your deductible in November and it resets in January).

Do I have to provide my credit card information?

  • We use a secure client portal that safely stores your credit card information. We do ask that all clients have a card on file to pay invoices. We will never charge your credit card for a missed session. You will always have 48 hours to review your invoice before we charge your card.
